First European Event dedicated to Mahara: call for papers
25 May 2009, 3:19
Hello,
I received the following notification from the JISC Moodle UK List (I don't think that it has been advertised in the community yet):

Please circulate to anyone interested - Apologies for x-Posting
Mahara UK 09
Wednesday 15th July
Institute of Education
University of London
This will be the first European event dedicated to Mahara, the rapidly
developing open source e-portfolio. The conference will bring together
experts, practitioners, and providers of learning and training to share
knowledge and best practice . The conference will be organised by
Catalyst, one of the founders of Mahara, and ULCC, the first UK partner.
Whilst this year's event will be modest with a maximum of 120 delagates,
we expect this to grow and become an annual fixture in the e-learning
calendar
There will be a full day of presentations and workshops providing
delegates with an interactive and engaging time. Come along and join
us; see a range of show-and-tell demonstrations, discussions focussing
on developing best practice, and have a chance to input on future
developments.
Details on how to book will be sent out soon, but before that, we'd like
to hear from anyone interested in participating as a presenter. We're
looking for people to provide examples of their own use of Mahara,
reports from projects or an interesting angle to think about. If you'd
like to present or simply register interest, please email me offlist, or
contact David Drummond at Catalyst ([email protected]) and we'd be
delighted to have a chat.

I'm afraid I don't know much about this myself, actually, only that it was happening. I'm sure someone in the UK will fill us in, in due time
