Hi,

I am running Mac OSX and have installed MAMP with Moodle 2.0:

 /Applications/MAMP/htdocs/moodle20

I have also installed Mahara in:

 "/Applications/MAMP/htdocs/mahara"

I have read that old pdf document that helps with the integration and I am stuck in XMLRPC authentication.

These are the setting I am putting in the administer "Authorities Window":

Authority name: XMLRPC

WWW root *http://localhost:8888/moodle20

Port number: 80

But I am getting the following error message:

An error occurred while retrieving the public key from the remote server.

Please ensure that the Application and WWW Root fields are correct, and that networking is enabled on the remote host.

Can anyone give me a bit of help on this one?

Thanks in advance

hi Renato

i am also running MAMP, i can see that you are using the MAMP-Standard port   :8888

so the port number you will have to state is 8888 not 80

hope that helps

Hi,

Thanks very much for your reply...I have tried that too after posting here and still get the same error message.

I assume you are running this installation locally? Is your root the same as mine?...

Thanks

Did you enable networking in Moodle? Did you set up the Mahara peer host in Moodle ?

Also, apache error logs may contain valuable information regarding the error.

Hi,

Yes, networking has been enabled in Moodle.  The Mahara peer host has not yet been set up.

I have been following that pdf document on integration and that step is after the one that is currently failing.

Will check the logs to see if there are any clues in there...

Hi,

I have now gone past this little problem with a fresh installation of Moodle 2.0.

I am now at the stage where I have to enable SSO in Moodle.  I have entered the host details and get the public key.

The problem is that when I click on  "Services" after saving the changes the page is empty. There is really nothingunder this tab except for a button saying "Save changes".

Can anyone help?

Thanks in advance...

You're using Moodle 2, it's quite likely to be buggy - I suggest you try asking in the Moodle forums?

Hi,

Thanks very much for your repliy. Indeed, that might be the problem. I have now re-installed 1.9.4+ and the whole setup went fine...

The problem now is that I am getting the following error i Mahara:

Sorry, could not log you in :(

Sorry, we could not log you into Mahara at this time. Please try again shortly, and if the problem persists, contact your administrator

This is what the server error log is showing:

[WAR] e0 (api/xmlrpc/client.php:167) Unknown error occured: 7023: [[encryption-invalid]], referer: http://localhost/moodle/

Any ideas on how to fix this?

Thanks in advance

What OS are you hosting them on? Are you on shared hosting? Do you have the openssl extension available and what version is it? What version of PHP are you using? For both sites.

Hi,Thanks very much for your reply.

I am running the installation on Mac OSX, but not through MAMP.  Mahara is accessed locally at http://localhost/mahara/ and Moodle at http://localhost/moodle/.

I do have openssl installed and I am running php 5.2.9.
