Greetings!
We've had a big migration in the last several months, and Mahara is just now starting to get used heavily again. I'm getting huge counts in my PHP error logs, most of which are like the following...

[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC] [WAR] bf (E:\www\inetwork\lib\mahara.php:801) Creating default object from empty value
[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC] Call stack (most recent first):
[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC]   * log_message("Creating default object from empty value", 8, true, true, "E:\www\inetwork\lib\mahara.php", 801) at E:\www\inetwork\lib\errors.php:446
[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC]   * error(2, "Creating default object from empty value", "E:\www\inetwork\lib\mahara.php", 801, array(size 7)) at E:\www\inetwork\lib\mahara.php:801
[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC]   * get_config_plugin("artefact", "file", "uploadagreement") at E:\www\inetwork\artefact\file\lib.php:487
[18-Oct-2012 20:06:14 UTC]   * ArtefactTypeFileBase::files_form("http://ischool.fcps.net/inetwork/artefact/file/ind...") at E:\www\inetwork\artefact\file\index.php:38

...There are literally 100's of variations on that theme in just today's logs. Interestingly, I've gotten zero feedback from users, so I don't know what's broken. A quick test of the journal and uploading files routine shows they work. I have no idea what I should be doing about this, if anything. Here's our full install stack:

  • Mahara version 1.4.0 (2011061002), SSO from Moodle, branded as "iNetwork"
  • PHP 5.4.7/64 bit installed very recently.
  • MySQL 5.1.47
  • Windows 2008R2 running IIS 7.5

Any hints?
By the way, the text editor on this Mahara.org install did NOT like  IE9, though my Mahara install was fine with it! (Posting to Mahara.org through Chrome.)
       Thanks in advance...
                            Jeff

Hi Jeffrey,

Those errors are due to you using PHP 5.4, have you recently upgraded from 5.3? In the most part these errors will be harmless.

In Mahara 1.6 which was released a few days ago, most (if not all!) of these errors have been fixed.

Cheers,

Hugh

Actually, upgraded to 5.4 from 5.1, I think. I'm glad the errors are apparently harmless, have yet to hear any complaints.

I do intend to upgrade, but need to test the 1.6 version to see what sort of user learning curve there is.

Thanks a bunch.
