Avoiding spam filters for new user messages
01 June 2012, 12:09
I'm running into problems adding new users, because their provider's spam filter is bouncing the mail back to me.
I think it's because the email says it's from me, but the detailed header shows that it's from another source.
See below the detailed header info from a message to a test user, which seems to flag possible spam...any suggestions?

Hi Don,
This post seems to have fallen through the cracks.
I'm not sure this is something Mahara can actually do much about, since people can put anything into the configuration for the website's sending address.
If your main concern is that the replies to the emails sent by the system get to you, and not that everyone sees your address, you could try changing the sending address to one on the correct domain which then simply forwards everything on to you.
Otherwise, I really don't know how to fix this; email stuff isn't even remotely my forte ;)
Hope this helps,
Melissa.
