Create a page layout for mobile access?

With all this talk about mobile apps and QR codes, shouldn't we have a layout on Mahara that supports mobile access well?
For example, on my employability eportfolio, it would be great to be able to point a QR code on someone's resume to a portfolio page laid out for mobile access.
This could provide the other side of mobile access: viewing a portfolio easily on a smartphone. In addition to providing convenient mobile access to employers reading resumes, it could be used by a candidate as supporting evidence in an interview. Teachers could probably think of other purposes for it, likely in assessment.
Is this an easy thing to do? Could it be part of core? Has someone already done it? I don't see it mentioned.
I've entered a bug report for this, but thought it might help if others felt it was important enough to say it affected them...
