I could have sworn I had uploaded new versions of files last year and that I got a dialog box where I could delete the old file and import the new.  This meant that the link remained the same.  I can't now find that - I seem to have to upload new files and they have different links.

I have a batch of about 20 documents to upload which each contain links to the others so I need the link to each to remain the same.

Hi Marion,

Every time you upload a file, you'll get a new id, so you can't change the file that gets downloaded from any direct download link, which always includes the file id.  You could instead use links to some page or folder containing the files you wish to be able to change the contents of, but then downloading them would become a two-step process for the user.

Thanks for confirming that, Richard.  I must have mixed up another system with Mahara in my mind.
