RSS feed issue
22 March 2009, 9:16
I have a feed from a Diigo.com list (http://www.diigo.com/list/Sharonbetts/internetsafety/rss.xml)
posted on a View at: http://eport52.org/view/view.php?id=6&new=
It feeds correctly, but the linkback on the title is not correct. Diigo can see no problem with this. Is it a Mahara issue?

Hi Sharon,
I don't understand/see your problem. You think that the text "internetsafety" is not correct? I created a rss block in my view and receive the same result. If I click on the "internetsafety" link on the top of the block I open this
http://www.diigo.com/list/sharonbetts/internetsafety
page?!

that is what is supposed to happen - when I click on the internet safety link on my view page it goes to:
http://www.diigo.com/list/Sharon%20Betts/internetsafety
which is obviously wrong. I have replaced the rss block and get the same results. Can you post the link to your view?

Hi,
here is the view http://ewiesion.com/mahara/view/view.php?id=235
I make it public for a few days.
Which Mahara version do you use?

Yours is working perfectly. I assume you used this feed:
http://www.diigo.com/list/Sharonbetts/internetsafety/rss.xml
Version 1.1.1

Hi - I just tried it, and it worked for me too.
I wonder if that site had a bug that generated the wrong URL in the feed when you inserted it, and maybe they have since fixed that bug? In which case, Mahara's cached feed data would be incorrect.
There is a possibility that there are a couple of bugs with the RSS block - e.g. perhaps we're not clearing out our cached data when the last block with a feed in it is deleted. Or maybe we should be updating the feed info every half hour as well as the items in the feed, but we're not.
The feed info for your feed is currently:

Internetsafety

So currently it has the correct link in it.

Fantastic. Yes, there must have been a caching error of some kind. I am just pleased to have it all working now.
Thank you for your great and prompt responses.
