I was able to get to the install screen with mahara 1.3, only after commenting out all the php flags in the htaccess file inside the mahara directory. When I clicked on it, it died saying register globals was still on. So I uncommented it and reuploaded. The browser could not find anything! So how do I get this to work? Why does commenting out php flags let the browser find the directory and uncommenting the very thing that mahara needs to install itself (please note all  files have already been uploaded to the server. I do not know why it wants to "install.") will cause the browser to spit out a file not found.

Does this give everyone what they need to help me and the hosting company to get this resolved!
