Hi, I am also having trouble with embedded media. I tried a sample Google presentation, code below. It seems to strip it. Cheers, Ian

<iframe src='http://docs.google.com/EmbedSlideshow?docid=dfsphd3z_268gv6mdjcq' frameborder='0' width='410' height='342'></iframe>

hi Ian,

You're right - thats intended functionality - see Nigel's responses here http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=420 and in the tracker - https://eduforge.org/tracker/index.php?func=detail&aid=3124&group_id=176&atid=742.

Enabling artbirary inclusion of iframe content is something that many Mahara institutions are keen to prevent (although I can see the frustration - SO many tools, including most of Google's toys let you copy the iframe code for use on your site). The best answer is to develop (in this case) a GoogleDocs blocktype - see the post from Heinz at the forum link above.

Myles.

Thanks Myles, GoogleDocs blocktype will be the way to go. Actually I am not that fussed. I have had an issue with Google Presentations in Moodle - they seem to completely load whether played or not which really drags a page if there are a few of them.

Ian, just found that thread. I don't know if you still need the GoogleDocs blocktype... in case you do, you can find it here: http://mahara.org/view/view.php?id=11634

Thanks so much Gregor, it will be great. Docs are getting better all the time, so it is really important they can be used.

Hi Gregor, I think Google has changed 'documents'. Spreadsheets, and presentations are still ok. The new embed codes and URL's are being rejected I think. Have you had this experience, or am I just having a bad night? My old docs are working fine, new ones not.  I was so pleased when we first installed your Google Docs blocktype. Cheers, Ian

Could you please download and test the newest version of GoogleApps blocktype, available at http://mahara.org/view/view.php?id=11634

Indeed, Google changed the URL addresses for Google documents.

You'll have to copy it over existing blocktype and maybe set it up in administration...

Sorry, but I haven't got the time to test if it works as expected. Please, let me know.

Regards, Gregor

Hi Gregor,

we installed the new blocktype, but still the same. Google spreadsheets and presentations are ok but docs do not show. We will also try to fix it.
