I have heard that there are universities using Mahara for student assignment submissions and that the assignments are then run through a plagarism check. I am wondering if the plagarism check is an add on to Mahara or if it is in Moodle and the assignments are transferred from one system to the other as I understand that there are links between the 2 systems. We use Blackboard hence me being unfamiliar with Moodle.

Is anyone familiar with this plagarism check.

My guess would be that they are using the TurnItIn plugin inside Moodle to do these checks and then submitting the assignments to Mahara.

Many thanks for your response. I did suspect it was linked to Moodle (which unfortunately we don't use).
