The first (and hopefully the last) release candidate of Mahara 1.1 has been released. This release has many bug fixes over the last beta, and also adds a "Register your Mahara" feature, which optionally gives you the ability to register your site with mahara.org to help us gather a picture of what Mahara installations there are around the world and how big they are.

This release should upgrade successfully from 1.0, but as usual we don't encourage you to do this on your production site(s). Instead, give it a try on a copy of your site and see how it works. If we hear of no major problems for a few days, then we will release 1.1.

Note: the "Register your Mahara" feature will always report failure right now, because the listener on mahara.org hasn't been enabled yet. We'll get it enabled as soon as possible.

And what would you know... releasing on a Friday isn't a good idea!

I got the version bump wrong. In order to execute the upgrade properly, you will have to change a line in htdocs/lib/version.php:

$config->version = 200902000;

To this:

$config->version = 2009022000;

Note the extra '2' in the middle.
