Is it possible to create Alt text to accompany an image in Mahara?

Apologies if that's a naive question, I'm not at the technical end, just an interested user.  i know I can add a description under the image but have been wondering whether Mahara is suitable for a screenreader....

I think that if you complete the description field for your image that acts as the alt text?

I suspected that with both the image title and the description, it would be clear..but I'm a bit hazy on screenreader function and wondered whether it would stumble at this point.
