When I set up SSO between Mahara and Moodle can I do it both ways or am I limited just to SSO from Mahara to Moodle or SSO from Moodle to Mahara?

It's just one direction at the moment.  We have a few issues to sort out before we can let it happen in both directions.

I've also noticed a strange thing... When users SSO from Moodle, they can get to Mahara without signing in (and without problems), but when they try to login to Mahara directly (with Mahara login form) they can't login ?!?

I'm pretty sure you can set it up to to work from the login form too - from memory I think the way to do it is to create an internal authinstance as a parent of your xmlrpc authinstance, in the same institution.
