Thanks for this, Gregor. Did you send me the Spanish language strings in the end? I have been travelling for two weeks and I had around 1200 messages waiting in my mailbox (I may have deleted yours accidentally). Otherwise, I can translate the strings myself. Regards Mari

Just download the plugin, the language translations (about 90% complete) are already included. And be sure to read "Translating the plugin" section at the end of wiki page.

Hi Gregor

A big thanks for this. A while back we tried the Kite CV Europass plugin with Elgg, but your Mahara plugin seems much more polished.

Currently testing it with a customised Mahara 1.2.2. Have also added in institution address and employer address fields as outined in:

http://mahara.org/interaction/forum/topic.php?id=1354

Is working well for me as admin. However, other users are getting the following error:

Site unavailable

A nonrecoverable error occured. This probably means you have encountered a bug in the system

Any idea what we need to do to fix this? apart from upgrading to Mahara 1.2.4 or 1.3  ;-)

...after a little more investigation it seems that the error is generated if a users Employment History is empty. It was just chance that the admin account had employment records but the other accounts I tested did not

Once an Employment record is added the Europass tab works OK

I'll have more time in the beginning of May and I'll look into it. It is strange - the plugin should work without errors even if the employment history is empty.

I'll also will try to find the patch that adds employer address and institution address. The patch was created by Nigel or Richard - untill the 1.3.0 is out.

Hello Geoff,

I just let you know that it tested the Europass pluggin (with Mahara language packs English and Spanish) and the employment history emptied and I didn't encounter the bug you mention.

I tested it with Mahara 1.2.0. When do you get the error message? when you try to export the Europas as XML file?

Regards

Hi Aaricia

Thanks for the feedback. We have added a few customisations to our Mahara 1.2.2 so perhaps the problems are peculiar to our setup only.

Amongst other things, I have manually backported Richard Mansfields patches to add Employer Address and institutional Address to Mahara Master (1.3)

http://gitorious.org/mahara/mahara/commit/0244adda707d6104a885d7a2dcf3d1fec0788843

http://gitorious.org/mahara/mahara/commit/fd7ad9e967c90c25239bd0cc7f1bb8db830ae7e8

For the record, and in case anyone encounters similar issues, the error is generated on attempting to view the Europass CV (selecting the Europass tab). It is reproducible on our setup, adding an Employment History record (in My Resume)  fixes the issue, removing it causes the error again.

Have also noted another (related?) issue in that the Europass Export to, say, .doc format fails (just stalls) if a Mother Tongue entry is missing. If a Mother Tongue is added, all works fine.

Again, this *may* just be peculiar to our Mahara setup.

Anyway, I'm starting to like this Europass plugin more and more! So thanks  to all involved in its development.
