Hi guys,

unfortunately my Apache Error log is full with entries like this:

 (45)Deadlock situation detected/avoided: mod_fcgid: can't get lock, pid: 14412
[Thu Mar 04 18:52:05 2010] [emerg]

(45)Deadlock situation detected/avoided: mod_fcgid: can't get lock, pid: 12469

Does anyone know what is causing the problem and how I can fix this?

thx Alex

Alex,

That's weird problem, but probably not Mahara related. Some searching doesn't turn up much either. Is it keeping you from operating your site? If it is, you might get some more helpful information from the Apache community. If not, I wouldn't worry about it too much.

Cheers,

Evan

Try stopping Apache, waiting a second or two and then starting Apache rather than using Restart or Reload. Sometimes some services fail to stop gracefully (and therefore do not start up correctly) when using the latter commands.

Then take a look at your logs for the time you started up and see if the errors have occurred again.
