Thanks for your replies. I downloaded Mahara 1.1.2 on March 31st so I think it is the latest version.

 Sidenote: "My network guy is out this week so I am trying to install it on WAMP on my computer. I was getting a bug that was blocking me even earlier in the install. When I went to localhost and clicked on mahara I see the contents of the folder mahara keeps looking for a path with a \ instead of a /.I now but I had to copy the contents of htdocs into the folder "C:\wamp\www\mahara" and have the config file specify $cfg->wwwroot = 'http://localhost/mahara/'; Maybe the docs should be changed to reflect that info.

Problem=solved.  Woot! Changed column to 1column and extended the script run time and  it worked!
