Record audio block
02 December 2009, 17:40
Kia ora whanau,
Our languages dept. is really excited about using Mahara as a teaching and learning tool next year, but one feature would be the icing on the cake for them.
Recording audio using something like Audacity then uploading the file to Mahara works fine, but it would be even better if we could add a block that allowed students to record and save audio from within Mahara. I know that there are a few blocks available for Moodle that profess to do this without the need for a media server.
- http://gong.ust.hk/nanogong/moodle.html for instance.
What are people's thoughts on how feasible this is within Mahara?

Kia Ora Mark!
I don't know of anything like this for Mahara, but there was a GSOC project for Moodle last year I think to do this. Check out:

I know that a few contrib mods came out of this from Andrei Batau who was my student in 2008, and an excellent student.
