Problem with umlauts

Hi,
here's a serious problem with umlauts (ä, ä ...) in v1.2. e.g. someone wrote umlauts in "my skills" and is trying to create a "new view" with a block "one resume field" the configure-popup crash.
- i don't know if it's in 1.1 too.
- database is utf8
- it doesn't matter if it's a fresh install or an upgrade
hope you can help or show me a workaround,

I see you posted a bug report: https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/488202 - thanks for that, hopefully someone will have a look at it next week.3 results
I tried the fix he posted to "Problem adding blocks to views in IE7"
