Problem with blog post accessed from a view
20 November 2009, 12:15
When a student who has access to a view tries to open a blog post from the same view, the following error appears on the screen:
University Name: Site unavailable
A nonrecoverable error occured.
This probably means you have encountered a bug in the system.
Any idea what may caused the problem? Should the blog post be accessable?
Mahara 1.2.0, Windows Xp, XAMPP, MySQL 5.0.67

Interesting, I just had a click around trying to duplicate this myself and I couldn't. Could you please check in the apache error log for your Mahara install - there should be a backtrace there that will tell us more about what the problem might be. If you can't find one, try duplicating the error and then checking at the very end of the file, the backtrace should be the last thing in there.24 November 2009, 18:31
Thanks for your message with the details. I had a look, and it turns out there is a bug in the artefact feedback code that only shows up under MySQL.
Here is a patch that fixes the problem - the patch will be in 1.2.1: http://git.mahara.org/?p=mahara.git;a=commitdiff;h=5e7c08672398b2df6bb4ba0773e4bd7ce44bfc17
Thanks for the report

FYI: This bug is also apparent when using other flavours of SQL.
One of our instances running Postgres was displaying the same error, applied ths patch and it's all fine now.
