Hi I am working on RSS Feed block to modify it for our organisation to show custom results.

I came across one thing, when you delete any instance of external feed the table blocktype_externalfeed_data still preserves the data for these feeds. Even if you upadte the feed's url a new record is created in this table instead of modifying current record. Is it normal ?

Hovewer, record from block_instance table is deleted when you delete it or updated when you modify the instance related things This seems okay.

Yes, that's normal. It's so that if two users add the same RSS feed to their Views (or one user adds the same one twice), we only store the data once. And more importantly, only fetch it once every half hour when the cron runs
