Setting up folders in my portfolio area

We have successfully integrated Moodle and Mahara and plan to use Moodle to deliver training to postgraduate students and Mahara where they can reflect on their learning and build up a portfolio to take with them on leaving university. In order to maximise the benefit from Mahara we wanted to set up default folders within each student's 'my files' in the 'my portfolio' area but can't work out how to do this.

Is it possible and if so how is it done? We would like to be able to add folders as an administrator and they would appear in each students personal area. Then we hope that they could easily transfer files from Moodle to Mahara (I hear only with Moodle 2.0 upwards) and upload files.

Hi Katy,

welcome in the Mahara community and greetings from Germany.

Out of the box there is no way to create folders inside the My Files area thru admin or if account is added. This could be a job for a Mahara partner, needs funding.

The files export looks for moodle 2.0 to be released. ;-)

In my experience students have no problems to find a workaround for the missing export feature.
