Hello,

We just upgraded to Mahara 17.04.2 this morning and there are a couple of things I would like to change. However, I am not sure whether it is possible or if it is only specific to our current theme (Ocean).

In our previous version the Content and the Portfolio tabs were clearly displayed on the top and learners could easily access either the set of pages or collections they created. This has now been replaced with the mobile friendly top right navigation menu. Is there any way to still display tabs on the top of the page?

When selecting Portfolio, the pages and collections are now listed together. When learners have multiple pages and collections, this layout is not very organized and due to the size of the titles does not display the full title. Is there any way to separate the pages and the collections on this page and keep the titles fully visible just like in the previous versions?

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Kind regards,

Bernadett

Hello Bernadett,

If you want to use the old-style navigation, you can use the "Old Raw" theme or base your theme on "Old Raw". We do provide the themes based on the old raw in a separate directory for download and compiling. Please see http://manual.mahara.org/en/17.04/intro/dashboard.html#new-in-mahara-17-04-navigation for more information.

In 17.04 we combined the display of pages and collections as their separation was somewhat arbitrary and didn't allow people to have an overview of all their portfolios. You can now search across pages and collections. Please see the "New in 17.04" video at http://manual.mahara.org/en/17.04/new.html for a brief walk through and explanation of the icons.

The titles can be displayed in full when you hover over them. You can create a custom theme and change the display if you want to show more of the title in a smaller font.

Cheers

Kristina

Hi Kristina,

Thank you. Richard is looking at creating our own custom theme next year so as long as we can make the collection titles clearly visible, I am sure learners will be happy with the change.

Kind regards,

Bernadett
