Hi,

Why does mahara send out mails about new comments on seemingly random forums to the mahara root user (ID=0)?

Hello Kevin,

I haven't seen this for forum posts yet, but have seen comments coming through to the system user when they are placed on public pages by anonymous people. I thought I had reported that bug, but I only reported one that was connected. Now I filed a bug at https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/1603206

I suspect you can't provide a test case for what you are seeing since it is randomly? If you can provide ways to replicate the issue, please let us know and file a bug.

Hi Kristina,

In this specific case on Mahara 16.04.3 it looks like every comment is also sent to the system user. I cant see why, we'd need to invest more time. This could be related to your bugreport but is different. Shall I create a new bug and link it?

Hi Kevin,

Could you please create a new bug and link the two bugs to each other by mentioning the other bug just in the comment? Something like "bug #1603206" is sufficient because then Launchpad links to the bug number directly.
