Hi Dan,

Do you have some more information about your environment so that someone might be able to help? Usually, we'd need to know:

  • Do you use MySQL or Postgres?
  • What is your server environment? Is it a flavor of Linux or something else?
  • Are you on shared hosting?

Thanks

Kristina

I've experienced the same thing and together with Aaron or Robert we've discovered that I just need to increase maximum execution time for PHP scripts in php.ini (I've set it up to 120 seconds). Then I restarted web server, deleted database and created empty database. Run installation once again and it worked.

The checking of maximum execution time (and automatic adjustment) should be part of Mahara 1.10.

HTH, Gregor
