Windows MultiPoint Server problem

If anybody has any idea or clue I would really appreciate it.

Here is the problem:

On one of the primary schools they have Windows MultiPoint Server 2012 (WMS2012). The server has Xeon ES-2620 processor with 16GB RAM. This is used to run all application for all users in Multisession mode.

Users use ZeroThin Client Atrust m320 clients over 1Gbit LAN, connected to local area network and the Internet.

They have reported that Mahara (http://listovnik.sio.si) works, but when used by 10+ users simultaneously the CPU gets overloaded (it jumps to 100% and stays there).

Mahara on http://listovnik.sio.si is version 1.8.0 on CentOS with MySQL database.

Any help appreciated...

Cheers, Gregor

Hi Gregor!

So, to be clear, the Windows MultiPoint Server is being used as the Mahara client? Like, they're running their web browsers on it? Can they access other websites with with 10+ users simultaneously without overloading the CPU?

I would guess that the most resource-intensive client-side part of Mahara is the video player, Flowplayer. Does the problem happen only when they start viewing Mahara pages that have embedded videos?

Cheers,

Aaron

Aaron hi.

As we "speek" I'm getting in touch with their server admin, to see what's really going on.

Will post here as soon as I know more details.

Cheers, Gregor
