Hello Boris,

Thank you very much for these 2 new sideblocks. For the installation, do you have to overwrite the core Mahara files or can everything stay in the folder, i.e. did you implement it as a plugin?

It would be great if you wanted to suggest these 2 blocks for core Mahara. In that case, it would need to be a setting similar to the "Online users" block I think so that site adminstrators and institution administrators can decide whether they want to show the sideblock to their users. What do you think? Information on how to contribute code to core Mahara is avaialble at https://wiki.mahara.org/index.php/Developer_Area/Contributing_Code specifically Gerrit is not so difficult to work with. :-) And then your feature could be in Mahara 1.7 (feature freeze will be at the beginning of February 2013).

Cheers

Hi Kristina, all that we did was overwrote the core Mahara files adding this new features, and as you think this 2 new side blocks are similar to Online Users(all u have to do is overwrite the files...besides Administrators can decide if show it or not...similar to Online Users side block...

We are working around another ideas...when this are ready we will share with u , fellows...
Best 4 u, and your team

Access Gerrit is to dificult to us for 2 elementary reasons:

1-We have a very, very , very slow conection to internet...

2-USA Goverment Laws, has forviden our acces to certain sites, one of this sites is code.google.com...

We are glad and happy to collaborate with u under(&over) this conditions...

PS: Sorry my english, i´m from Cuba, and spanish is my native language

Hello Boris,

Thank you for the explanation. You wouldn't have to install Gerrit yourself, just use it via the URL https://reviews.mahara.org :-)

Cheers

Hi Boris,

It can be a bit difficult to get started using http://reviews.mahara.org , especially if you're not familiar with git. If you would prefer to file a wishlist "bug" on https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/ and attach your patch to that (or link to this forum post, since you've already attached it here), that would be fine too. Laughing

Cheers,
Aaron
