Hi, I would like to start a Swedish translation. I have registered an account in Launchpad. What is the next step in order to get going?

I created the Swedish language pack on Launchpad. Now I assume I need to be accepted by the Translator administers so that I will get the permissions to start translating. Whom can I contact?

You can contact François Marier (francois[at]debian[dot]org)

He will give you the admin right for your language pack.

I would advise you not to start now and wait for a while. At Catalyst they are cleaning the English language pack which may cause loss in the translations.

I will keep you posted

In terms of the impact of our changes to the English language pack, there's no problem if you are translating the 1.4 version of Mahara. That version is not going to change:

As for the master (the branch of the code that will become 1.5) translation, we are trying to find a way to minimize the amount of work that will need to be done by translators. But we have put these big changes on hold for now.

Cheers,

Francois
