I can install the datadir on my local test server (centOS) without any problem.

Now, I have signed up with a VPS provider (CentOS) and for the life of me, I cannot install the datadir evewn though it's already 777 and outside of my public html page

Mahara: Site unavailable

Your defined data root directory, /srv/maharaupload/, is not writable. This means that neither session data, user files nor anything else that needs to be uploaded can be saved on your server. Please make the directory if it does not exist, or give ownership of the directory to the web server user if it does.

my public page is at:/var/www/vhosts/mysite.com/httpdocs

my data directory is at: /srv/maharaupload

any ideas why it's not letting me acknowledge my settings?
