Problem with LDAP / SSO

Hello All,

I have configured LDAP, and also configured Moodle to allow direct acces via XMLRPC.

I have set LDAP as the parent authority of the Moodle XMLRPC authority.

If a user logs in via Moodle and subsequently via LDAP all is well.

If a user first logs into Mahara using LDAP, and then logs in via Moodle a duplicate account is created with "1" appended to the end.

Any advice on how I can stop this?

Jeremy

Hi - IIRC, we did know about this before, and decided the solution was to make people sign in via SSO first. But on reflection, I don't see why an entry can't be put in the auth_remote_user table when someone signs in with a 'parent' auth method, to prevent this behaviour.  I have made a bug for this issue.

Hello Nigel,

I am glad to hear that there is a bug report opened about this issue, and that the authentication procedure will be done in the way that Iñaki suggested.

Regards

Thanks very much, that will be a great help!

We have over 20,000 users across 7 Moodle instances and a lot of other potential users who do not currently use Moodle... but who may use Moodle in the future.

This minor glitch is a real nuisance at the moment!
