Hi there,

I'm able to get notifications via email, and via the 'Recent Activity' block on the home/dashboard view. However, I'm not receiving emails, or notifications to the 'Topics I'm Following' block, for forum posts that I've subscribed to.

I've subscribed to individual topics, complete forums, and checked that the configuration of the 'Topics I'm Following' block has the 'New forum post' box ticked. I've created various group configurations (type and category) but not one post notification.

I'm an admin, so I've created test accounts and tried various things under 'settings < notifications' and have now ran out of things to check.

Have you checked whether or not the cron is running?

Yes, cron is running normally.

To make sure you're not running into this bug:

  https://bugs.launchpad.net/mahara/+bug/716812

have a look to see if there are any errors returned by the cron while it's attempting to send emails. You can do that by disabling the automatic cronjob you have set up and running cron.php manually on the command line.

If you are running into this problem, the easiest work-around is to increase the PHP memory limit.
