Hi everyone,

Did you know that Mahara will turn 20 on 27 September 2026? That was the day Penny Leach pushed the first lines of code into the code repository. I'd like to invite you to Mahara Hui Online on 15 October 2026 to celebrate our anniversary, get together to swap tips and short stories, and to take a first look at one big new functionality we are currently designing: Forms to scaffold portfolio work.

Mark Brown, who was amongst the group who successfully secured funding for the initial phase of the project, will join us to take us back to the beginning.

Here's the provisional programme, stated in New Zealand time on 15 October 2026:

• 13:00 (convert into your time zone): Welcome and introductions
• 13:15: Mark Brown: How it all started 20 years ago and some stories along the way
• 13:30: The big Mahara anniversary trivia quiz
• 13:50: Your top Mahara tip or success story
• 14:05: First look and conversation: Forms for scaffolding portfolio work
• 14:50: Upcoming events and opportunities to connect
• 14:55: Goodbye
• 15:00: The end

Register for free to attend live and join us in the celebration.

Have a wonderful week

Kristina
