The 20th Mahara anniversary is coming up in a little over a month. I'll send an event announcement next week. In the meantime, make sure to mark your calendar for this virtual Mahara celebration event at DCU.

Noeleen O'Keeffe, Rob Lowney, and their team at Dublin City University (DCU) will host an open online event on Thursday, 1 October 2026, to celebrate and share ePortfolio practice. It will take place from 3 to 5pm (Dublin time) online via Zoom. It will also be recorded so those of us that are fast asleep or otherwise can't make it, can catch up on the stories that will be shared.

2026 marks ten years since DCU launched its institutional learning portfolio platform powered by Mahara (branded as 'Loop Reflect'). This online event will reflect on DCU's journey with ePortfolio and share examples of how educators are using it to provide student centred and authentic learning and assessment opportunities for students. Additionally, a volume of case studies will be launched, alongside emergent findings from a research study with DCU students and staff on their Mahara experiences. All are welcome to attend.
