Event: Mahara und KI: Was interessiert euch?

Am Freitag, 24. Juli 2026, von 10-11:30 Uhr CEST, laden wir euch zu einem Webinar ein, in welchem unsere Expert:innenrunde der Frage nachgeht, wie kann KI sinnvoll in Portfolios genutzt werden?
Künstliche Intelligenz (KI) ist in aller Munde und wird auch zunehmend im Bildungsbereich genutzt. KI macht da natürlich vor Porfolios keine Halt und man kann sie verschiedentlich einsetzen, z.B.
- als Reflexionsbegleiter
- zur Erstellung von Farbpaletten, die Barrierefreiheit berücksichtigen
- zur Analyse von Portfolios, um Themen herauszustellen
- zum Geben von Feedback
- und noch viel mehr
Unsere Expert:innenrunde gibt Einblick in folgende Fragen und lädt zum Mitdiskutieren ein.
- Welche Möglichkeiten haben wir in der Portfolioarbeit sie sinnvoll einzusetzen?
- Welche Projekte gibt es momentan dazu?
- Welche Erfahrungen gibt es schon?
- Was sollte vermieden werden?
- Was könnte in eine Portfolioplattform wie Mahara eingebunden werden um Lernenden und Lehrenden einen Mehrwert zu bringen?
In der ersten Stunde, von 10-11 Uhr, findet die Expert:innenrunde statt. Danach habt ihr die Möglichkeit ein paar Dinge selbst auszuprobieren.

Hi everyone,
Last Friday, we brought together a number of researchers, educators, and students who have been exploring how AI could be used well in portfolio practice. While the session was held in German, subtitles and the transcript are available in English as well to make the work more widely accessible to the community. The English translation is an automatic one. Spot checks didn't raise any particular flags, but if anything major needs correcting, please let me know.

Prof Dr Paul Libbrecht (IU International University of Applied Sciences) presented on the AISOP project, which researched AI-assisted portfolio evaluation using rubrics, visual thematic maps for content analysis, and natural language processing to reduce feedback time.
Romy Hösl, MA, and Thomas Schwabe, MA, (OTH Amberg-Weiden) explored how they can leverage AI to support the giving of feedback on ePortfolios in an introductory bachelor seminar, to reduce instructor workload.
Veronika Schlegel, Lilly Pflug und Emilia Warko, students in the Medien- und Bildungsmanagement programme at PH Weingarten demonstrated their prototype of an integrated feedback engine and quiz module to help prepare for an exam that is based on the portfolio.
Prof Dr Karsten Wolf (University of Bremen) talked about the development of AI feedback on an entire, multimodal portfolio where educators could customise the feedback prompts and select from previously created feedback models.
Enikö Parrag, MInf (EDUTECSOL) demonstrated two plugins for Mahara: 1) Use Claude to create templates for Mahara that are set up via an API; 2) Interact with an AI coach that allows students to go deeper into their reflection.
Our presenters highlighted the potential of AI, in particular generative AI, for supporting ePortfolio feedback and scaffolding learning. At the same time, they talked about technical challenges, privacy, integration, and the need for educators to retain oversight and explore using GenAI for feedback, but not for (high stakes) assessment grading.
Conversations like this and sharing what is already happening are important to learn from each other and leverage what others have already done.
