The screenshots are from an older version of Google apps. The "Get the link to share" doesn't exist anymore. You now have to publish to the web. That was also the only functionality that Mahara supported. You always had to publish a document for embedding.

]]>This is not possible as far as I know because you can only embed the document as web page. then when you want to edit it, Google takes you to Google Drive because you may need to sign in if you aren't already and you need to see the menu bars.
