I would like to know whether it is a big issue to allow other kind of embed code for MAHARA - so far this function is very restricted and it is not possible for example to embed Slideshare codes and other sites which would be extremely helpful for our purposes, esp. since users working with Moodle are used to have this function... Is ist just a choice you made? Hopefully you will consider his issue .. otherwise I am very happy with ths system ... lots of improved featues... very stable too!!! :-)

Hi Sigi - it is restricted for security reasons. The ability to embed javascript code from any site invites malicious students to try and attack the site or other users. But in 1.1 (as you have seen), we have added ways to safely embed certain sites that we know are generally safe - with the ability to turn them off if those sites become compromised or you do not want to allow students to embed these things.

We are certainly most open to allowing more sites in - if you have a site that you think people should be allowed to embed code from, please file a feature request asking for it. If you could, please submit a link to a page on their website where all the embed codes are listed, so we can use that list to tweak the security filter.
